Seven Laurie & Brennan Lawyers Earn Individual Rankings in Chambers USA

Seven members of the Laurie & Brennan LLP team achieved individual rankings by Chambers USA for construction law. Chambers has recognized Ty Laurie, Dan Brennan, Ryan Hiss, Krista Kapp and Ross Altman, along with Bill Toliopoulos and Chad Shifrin, who ranked individually for the first time in 2024. No other firm in Illinois has as many construction lawyers ranked by Chambers USA.

Dan Brennan has been recognized with a Band 1 ranking, the highest possible ranking with one client describing Dan as “a highly skilled construction and design contracting specialist”. This is Dan’s twentieth year being ranked by Chambers with the last four consecutive years ranked as Band 1.

Ryan Hiss earned a Band 2 ranking and has been ranked individually by Chambers for four consecutive years. Chambers describes Ryan as “handling a range of construction matters, including major infrastructure and government projects in both the US and abroad”, with a client noting that he shares their company values.

Krista Kapp has been ranked by Chambers since 2018, this year moving up to a Band 2 ranking. Chambers’ review describes Krista as “commended for her strong transactional and contract negotiations skills.” One client commented that “Krista has a depth of knowledge and experience in contracting construction projects.”

This is Bill Toliopoulos’ first year individually ranked by Chambers, earning a Band 3 ranking. Chambers review describes Bill as offering “comprehensive legal counsel, from contract negotiations to dispute resolution, for projects nationwide.”

Chad Shifrin has been recognized with a Band 3 ranking for his first individual ranking by Chambers. One client commended Chad for his understanding and strategical analysis of different problems and another noting that “his advice is always spot on.”

Chambers has awarded Ty Laurie and Ross Altman as Senior Statespersons for 2024. Ty has been ranked by Chambers since 2003 and Ross since 2004. One client describes Ross as “an invaluable advisor to our company.” Chambers recognized Ty Laurie “for handling some of the most complex construction litigation cases in the state” with clients recognizing his knowledge and work in dispute resolution matters.
