Ridgely J. Jackson concentrates her practice on construction disputes and drafting construction, design, and design-build contracts for owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.  She has drafted contracts for mixed use high-rise complexes, condominium hotels, shopping center projects, medical centers, entertainment venues, and charter schools.  Ms. Jackson also drafted construction and design contracts for housing and community projects in Sri Lanka and Africa.  In addition, she prosecutes and defends mechanics lien disputes.

Ms. Jackson has edited numerous publications and presentations, and served as Associate Editor of Under Construction, a newsletter published by the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry, from 2011 to 2014.  She also co-authored the chapter on alternative clauses to the AIA A107-2007 form of construction contract published by Aspen.  At Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Ms. Jackson was an adjunct faculty member for several years teaching Legal Writing to law students as well as attorneys admitted to practice in other countries.

Ms. Jackson also has focused on special education issues and shelter for the disadvantaged as part of her pro bono activities. Representing children and their families as a volunteer attorney at Equip for Equality, Ms. Jackson researched special education issues for Ounce of Prevention. She has represented children seeking special education services from their school districts. She also served on the board of directors for the Lawyers Committee for Better Housing.
