Ms. Morehouse focuses on construction litigation and related commercial litigation. She is responsible for all aspects of case management in litigation matters from legal research to trial and appeal, and has extensive experience representing clients in arbitration proceedings, mediations, and trials. She routinely represents construction and real estate development firms, property owners, condominium and co-op boards, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers in a wide range of construction disputes. Her experience includes representing and advising clients on construction and design defect claims, contract termination claims and other contract disputes, delay and payment claims, mechanics liens, bond claims, and project close-outs.

Ms. Morehouse also has substantial involvement in claims involving fraud and misrepresentation in the construction and real estate sales industries, and has successfully prosecuted and defended claims involving statutory and common-law fraud. She also has experience prosecuting and defending claims for breach of fiduciary duty against condominium boards relating to building defects. Ms. Morehouse’s expertise also extends to other areas of commercial litigation, including partnership and business disputes, and various real estate issues, including long-term commercial leasing, commercial foreclosure, zoning laws, and title disputes involving easements and purchase options. Ms. Morehouse also uses her experience to advise clients on strategies for minimizing legal risk, and participates in contract negotiation and drafting to represent her clients’ best interests.


Carolyn lives on the northwest side of Chicago, with her husband and two children. Carolyn is a dedicated hockey mom, and manages a local youth hockey team. She is also active in local community and school groups. Carolyn is married to an amateur pie chef, who placed second in the 2010 Bucktown Apple Pie Contest. She and her husband are also former third-place medalists in the Chicago Flatwater Classic (Tandem Mixed Recreational Canoe division).

Ms. Morehouse has represented and counseled a wide variety of clients, including the largest outdoor advertising company in the United States, construction and real estate development firms, regional banks, hauling and transportation companies, and product manufacturers and distributors. She has obtained summary judgment in five contested Chancery Division and Law Division cases, and successfully defended appeal of summary judgment before the Illinois Appellate Court, First District.
